| Monday Meeting Strikes Back! |

Testing. Testing. Is this thing on?
Bax here, filling in for Will while he’s up in Chicago helping his parents move.
Now, I’m not going to try to be as “witty” or “clever” as Will writing this thing. I was “volunteered” to update the lj today, and I’m still a little bitter about being here today after the way I was treated at Gen Con.
First off, thanks to Ray Fawkes for absconding with my badge and the rest of the crew here for just mocking me and refusing to buy me another badge. I get it. It was what I can only assume to be some sort of a fraternity rush. They screw you early, and you just have to deal with it. Now I’m thinking I shouldn’t have spent all my per diem before getting up to the show. I didn’t have any money to even get another badge. Luckily I packed plenty of these Vietnamese noodles (found a place where I can get about 20 for a buck) so I wouldn’t go hungry. I wish I had a fancy laptop like Will. I could have been more productive than just writing in my notebook all weekend.
So, the time is now 11:52, and the meeting is getting started. We’re all reminiscing about Gen Con and the “fun” that was had there. My fun involved helping unload the truck and carrying boxes over to the convention center and then going back to my room to write and read over some manuscripts. I hear it was a pretty good show.
Apparently, by fleshcrafting your anus next to your belly button, you only have a 50-50 chance of getting anally raped. They might miss and hit the belly button. Everyone give Oscar his due for that one. (This all came about over dinner the first night at the sushi joint. Several patrons were frightened and asked to move tables.)
Board games and waaaaay too many pirate things were the soup du jour at the show, and I’m told there were some very cool board games.
I finally got to meet Justin Achilli. He’s pretty much exactly what everyone told me he’d be like. When I met him and his mohawk, he lobbed a High Life bottle at me.
We had a good showing at the ENnies this year, taking Gold in Best Writing for Mage and a Silver for Best Free Product or Web Enhancement for the Mage demo. Congrats to Bill and the rest of the authors on those projects.
Rich would like to apologize to everyone. We’re really sorry that White Wolf games cause brain cancer and child abuse. Our bad. (I can only assume that someone will get the joke.)
The Scion announcement went really well and the excitement for the game is already building. I can’t wait for it personally.
Promethean, Ptolus and Rappan Athuk Reloaded all sold like gangbusters. Thanks to everyone who picked those up. Hope you’re enjoying them!
Apparently Mike Chaney was very lonely while everyone was gone. He keeps talking about “wailing on some dude’s junk” over and over again. Everyone in the meeting is getting a little nervous. Aaron has set his knife on the table. Matt grabbed a copy of Ptolus and is using it as a groin shield.
VTES sold very well. I heard rumor that an “ass-ton” sold. What’s up today with all the groin and butt references?
The White Wolf party was a huge success. The buss ride over was a blast. We were the “Dungeon on Wheels” which was, according to the driver, “full of Draculas and vampires.” We were then asked to not bite him on the neck. Justin was spinning some great tunes. I bailed fairly early and then heard the stories of the afterparty. Apparently Handicap Sign + Dodgeball = Awesome, but Seed Spreader + Dodgeball = More Awesome. Wish I’d seen that one. Also, don’t let Justin have a snow shovel.
Okay, it’s 12:52 now. Let’s get on with business.
Who’s working on what.
John (Chambers) – Working on some Scion chapters and having a meeting for Scion visuals on Wednesday. Also hopping on to the Exalted Wiki on the website to check on and correct the Dragon-Blood errata.
Brian – Art directing some of Black and White Treatises as well as getting covers in for the 2007 books. He’s apparently working on some visual design for some project that I don’t know if we’ve announced yet or not.
Will – In Chicago helping his parents move. Hey Will, if you happen to be reading this… “Touch my face.” Jerk.
Pauline – Waiting on some art notes from the Jerk, Will. Could possibly be doing the East Coast cannonball run from New York to Florida at the end of the week. For fun. Mike says he wants to be Jamie Farr.
Ethan – Changeling and War of the Pure prep. I can say that here, right?
Aileen – Art directing a Werewolf book and wrapping up Long Live the King to send to the printers.
Matt – AD'ing a Mage book, getting his 2007 covers in and a smattering of other things. But first, going home to crash from Gen Con.
Me – Still working on some Scion writing. Planning on pitching some Scion and Exalted ideas to John later. I totally have some cool ideas.
Bill – Welcome back to the Monday meetings Bill. Bill is working on writing some in Abyss and Scion and another project I can’t talk about right now.
Aaron – Quoting out some projects, working on some licensing deals and finalizing the corrections for the TDGTVTR project that we had flyers for at Gen Con. (Yes, it’s real.)
Rich – Working on the 2008 schedule. Yeah, you heard me. 2 double aught 8.
Done. I’m going to go back to my cube and write this all up now. It’s been 1 hour and 26 minutes. |
